Wander & Rest Stays

Everything people ask.

18 questions, answered properly. If yours is not here, ask us — the same people who answer the phone wrote these.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes — dogs are welcome at every one of our homes, up to two per stay. Just tell us about your dog when you book so we know who is coming. We ask that dogs are not left alone in the home and that you clean up in the yard.

Why book here instead of Airbnb or VRBO?

Airbnb and VRBO charge guests a service fee on top of the nightly rate, and that money goes to the platform rather than to the home. Booking on this site skips that fee entirely, so this is the best price we are able to offer. You are also dealing with us directly rather than through a messaging system, which makes questions, special requests, and longer stays much easier to sort out.

Where exactly are the homes?

Right now they are all in northeast Wisconsin. Gala Court Oasis is in Appleton, in the Fox Valley. Green & Gold Basecamp is in Green Bay, close to Lambeau Field and downtown. Cozy Home on Evans and Roomy Central Hub on 8th are both in Oshkosh, near UW-Oshkosh, the Leach Amphitheater, and Wittman Regional Airport where EAA AirVenture is held.

Do you have space during EAA AirVenture week?

Our two Oshkosh homes are well placed for AirVenture, and they are the first thing to book every year — often close to a year ahead. If the calendar shows full, still get in touch. Plans change and we sometimes have a week open back up.

What about Packers home games?

Green & Gold Basecamp in Green Bay sleeps eight and has a garage for tailgate gear and a gas grill. Home game weekends go quickly once the schedule is released, so earlier is better.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Standard check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM. When there is no same-day turnover, we are happy to get you in earlier or let you stay later at no charge — just ask. Because you are booking with us directly, we can actually check the calendar and give you a real answer.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 30 days before arrival and 97% of the booking is refunded. Cancel more than 7 days before and 47% comes back. Inside 7 days there is no refund. There is also a 24-hour grace period right after booking, as long as your arrival is at least 72 hours away. The exact terms are shown before you confirm, and if something has genuinely gone wrong, talk to us — we are the people who decide, not a policy engine.

Is it safe to book directly with you?

We run our bookings and payments through OwnerRez, a professional vacation rental management platform used across the industry. Card details are handled by their secure checkout and are not stored on this website. Your cancellation terms and any deposit are shown before you confirm.

Is the availability on this site accurate?

Yes. The calendar and prices on each home come live from our OwnerRez calendar, which syncs with Airbnb, VRBO, and our direct bookings at the same time. The dates are checked again before any booking is confirmed, so once it is, those nights are yours.

Do longer stays cost less per night?

They do. Weekly and monthly stays are discounted automatically, and the lower rate appears in the total when you enter your dates. If you are looking at something longer or unusual, get in touch and we will work it out with you directly.

Can we book more than one home?

Often, yes — bigger groups sometimes take two. Get in touch with your dates and we will check both calendars together and tell you what works. Our homes are all within about an hour of each other.

Are linens and towels provided?

Yes. Beds are made, and towels and washcloths are out for you. Every home also has soap, shampoo and conditioner, a coffee machine with coffee, and laundry machines. Pack light — you do not need to bring bedding, towels, or a bag of toiletries for the group.

Is there WiFi?

Yes, every home has WiFi, and some have a dedicated desk if you need to get work done while everyone else is out. The amenity list on each property page spells out what that home has.

How do we get in, and what if we arrive late?

Every door has an electronic smart lock, so you let yourself in whenever you arrive. Your code comes through before the stay, there is nobody to meet, and a late arrival is not a problem. If your plans shift on the day, just message us.

Can we hold a party or an event at the home?

Gatherings within your booked guest count are exactly what these homes are for — that is the whole point of a reunion or a wedding party. What we do not allow is a party beyond the guest count on the booking. If you are planning something bigger, ask first and we will tell you honestly whether the home suits it.

Is smoking allowed?

No smoking inside any of our homes. Outside is fine, and we ask you to use the ashtray rather than the yard.

Do you have a crib, high chair, or pack-n-play?

Some homes do. Ask us before you book and we will tell you exactly what is there rather than have you travel with it unnecessarily.

What about parking?

Every home has off-street parking, so you are not hunting for a spot on the street. Some have a garage as well — handy in February and handy for tailgate gear in the fall. The amenity list on each property page says which.

Still wondering something?

Ask us directly. We answer these ourselves, usually the same day.
